Blackpool - A Gay Parents Paradise, a Magic World for Kids in Holiday

UK

This undiscovered English town, located on the Irish Sea Coast, entertain thousands of kids and their parents with many amusement parks at an affordable price from early in the morning until late in the evening can be an excellent escape for gay parents.

Blackpool has positively surprised me and definitely brought in my mind the childhood funny stories and memories. I was lucky as well, as I had 3 lovely and sunny days, exploring the town and enjoying walks along the promenade and on the wide sandy beach (depending on the tides, rise, and fall of the sea level). Therefore I have seen many parents taking the kids for a walk along the beach feeling the sea breeze; few times, I saw them swimming or lying on the chair at the promenade or playing different games once the seawater is low.

Blackpool has three Piers as North, Central, and South Pier, with restaurants, terraces, and amusement rides for everyone with iconic
views.
On the other side of the promenade, you will have even more funny parks (indoor) if the weather is ''unfriendly.''

Alternatively, you can spend few days in Blackpool without getting bored no matter of the weather, exciting  by the Magic World in a few of the payable but fabulous pleasure grounds such as:
Sandcastle Waterpark - An indoor waterpark in a tropical climate.
2. Blackpool Pleasure Beach - The UK's most ride-intensive amusement park, actually I have never seen something like that live in my life (even as an adult, I found it amazing ... hahaha).

3. SEA LIFE Blackpool - Exploring the beautiful marine life at this unique Aquarium.
4. Blackpool Zoo - Many lovely animals are waiting for you to visit.

5. Blackpool Tower - For stunning panoramic views (town and sea).

With so many things to do in Blackpool, you and your kids, I believe, will never get bored (on holiday or trip).
Online tickets seem to be cheaper than from the kiosk (maybe is a better idea to buy online).
Sometimes the pictures are more important than the words... therefore enjoy the Gallery.

Enjoy life and make memories, time flies!

Accommodation is essential when it comes to traveling with kids, and as I was working for many years in reception where I met many families with children I could give you some suggestions to make your holiday more enjoyable:

  1. Think about hotels that offer breakfast, including in the room rate (which may make life easier).

  2. Look for hotels around the area you wish to explore, or you will spend much time (walking distance to not be a problem).

  3. Some hotels offer a double bed plus a sofa bed (at the same price) why not take advantage.

So far in Blackpool, there are no hotels for Gay Parents traveling with kids, but this doesn't need to stop you from going there.

Below I will list some helpful sites to book a hotel (keep in mind the suggestions above).

1. Misterbandb

2. Booking.com

3. Agoda

4. Hostelworld

5. Hotels.com

6. Expedia

7. Wotif

8. Hostelbookers

In this section, the best places for you as families with kids will be AMUSEMENT PARKS, around Victorian piers: North Pier, Central Pier.

Then, walk around the promenade where you will have places to enjoy a meal or a drink,  laughing and chilling.

Have a lovely evening!

Blackpool is quite good connected within other parts of the country by bus or train.

From London, there are direct trains (if you book in advance at affordable prices).

The nearest international airport is Manchester, and from Manchester about 1h 15min train or bus ( £ 7-12 one way).

In case you wanna go by car, it will be good to check with the hotel to see if they have parking available (even better to ask if it will be included in the accommodation price or free parking).

UK Couches company:

  1. national express - I have been few times and had a great experience (seats very comfortable, especially on a long journey)

2.  megabus - Low coast coach (another alternative to reach your destination).

Have a safe journey!
