Édimbourg - Architecture, art et culture dans la capitale écossaise
Royaume-Uni
Edinburgh, Scotland’s capital, is an amazing destination for your gay holidays. The pictures don’t do the city any justice, but I can tell you that the experience is indescribable. This beautiful gay city is painted with incredible landscapes, unique architecture, long and broad streets, and a weather that will make your gay trip incredibly memorable.
I’ve been to Edinburgh twice, and I’m dying to go again. If you’re looking for a place to have a short, comfortable holiday, then Edinburgh is on my list of recommendations. The gay life here is calmer than other parts of the U.K., especially the nightlife. Though, being gay in Scotland is widely accepted. You wouldn’t have to worry or be scared about showing your true colours while you’re enjoying your holidays. Scotland, which is a part of the U.K. is one of the safest places for the LGBTQIA+ community in the world. It’s a city that has some of the top universities, so you might see tons of younger gay boys who love to hang out in Scotland’s gayest district, “Pink Triangle.”
This city is for the gay men who adore and appreciate architecture, art, and culture. When it comes to the gay nightlife, I did find it a bit more relaxed than what I was used to. Usually, straight and homosexual individuals mix together comfortably. It’s a very open-minded community to the point that the members of the LGBTQIA+ community are well-integrated into the society. That’s why there was no need to have clubs or bars that cater just to the gay community. Every bar and club are open to anyone and everyone, no matter your sexual orientation.
Edinburgh is not a city I would recommend if you’re only looking to party. Though, it’s perfect for gay travellers who look for a quiet time and a place to recharge. Edinburgh is usually cloudy and rainy, so prepare yourselves for that. I was lucky in that sense. On my trip, I was enjoying the sun and you might too. Pack some warm clothes because they could come in handy no matter what the season is.
I hope you have an incredible time!
Recommandations
Hôtels
Even though Edinburgh doesn’t have gay hotels or accommodations that strictly target gay men, the city is very gay-friendly and incredibly open-minded. I have no doubt that you will be comfortable, no matter where you stay.
The gay nightlife is centered around the area “Pink Triangle.” So, I would recommend finding something close-by or, at least, in close proximity.

Bars/Clubs/Saunas
As I mentioned many times before, Edinburgh is a very open-minded city. No one cares about your sexuality or gender, as long as you’re a lovely person. That’s why the nightlife is enjoyed by both straight people and homosexuals alike. You won’t find gay bars or gay clubs because the LGBTQIA+ community are welcome in any bar or club in the city. It may be quieter than other cities such as: Manchester, London, or Brighton.
