Miami - Vibrant, Flashy & Unforgettable
USA
Miami Beach is famous all over the world and is a destination that attracts all kinds of tourists, gay, straight, transgendered, singles, couples, or even families. Its well-known beaches have stirred articles all over the internet and it, definitely, is a place you need to add to your bucket list.
Miami has two gay beaches, and you can find them below:
1. 12 Street Gay Beach – As the name says, this beach is down 12 Street and is a popular gay beach for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community. If you need to find it, just follow the rainbow flag and you’ll soon be in a gay destination that will make you feel comfortable and safe.
2. Haulover Gay Beach – A popular nude beach about 11 miles/18km from Miami South beach. This beach has a section that caters to nudists who love to tan and swim with nothing on! You can find this section between Lifeguard Towers #12 and #16 on the northern end of the beach. Haulover Gay Beach can, easily, be accessed by bus from Miami Beach. The bus only accepts cash or you could take a taxi, though, keep in mind that the price is higher in that case. This beautiful nude beach is extremely popular, so expect it to be crowded until late at night during, both, the weekdays and weekends. Granted, the bigger the crowd, the better the sight.
Miami Beach has a vibrant and lively gay nightlife. There aren’t too many options for gay clubs and gay bars, but the atmosphere as a whole has the gay people screaming for more as they party with gorgeous boys under rainbow flags.
I do have to warn you that if you are on a budget, Miami can be quite an expensive gay destination. Of course, it might not be as expensive as gay holidays and gay beaches in Europe, but bear that in mind. Miami is world-famous, so spending a little more to visit this gay destination once is worth the entire trip.
I hope you have the gayest of holidays in Miami!

Alberghi
One thing that impressed me in Miami Beach was the wide array of hotel options. Miami is a very big touristic destination, which means you will have your pick of hotels on the beach with breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Even though most of the hotels are gay-friendly, there are only a handful of gay hotels. Of course, this doesn’t mean you should get discouraged. Miami is an amazing gay destination and you can’t imagine how gay it is until you actually see it. Gay couples holding hands or kissing in public is very common. It’s amazing to see how our community can feel so comfortable nowadays.

4. South Beach Rooms and Hostel
This gay-friendly hostel comes with a male-only dormitory. It is situated very close to the gay nightlife of Miami and it’s only a few steps away from the popular Twist Club.

Bar/Club/Saune
Miami Beach is known for its nightlife. Its world-famous reputation boasts about the bars, clubs, and events that tourists from all over come to see. You can find some of them on the most famous street in Miami, Ocean Drive. However, when it comes to gay nightlife alone, I believe there are better destinations out there that are more fitting for the label of a “gay destination.”
Whether you’re gay or not gay, the nightlife is, absolutely, fabulous! You’d be even luckier if you managed to go to Miami when some of the gay cruises are happening. In my experience, I went there 4 days before a gay cruise began with a capacity of over 5,000 gay boys! It was a dream!
Below, I listed the best gay clubs, gay bars, and gay saunas in Miami so you can take your pick.
1. Twist Club
Twist is the largest gay club you’ll find in Miami Beach. It comes with 3 different floors, each having several bars and different clubs. It can get crowded during the weekend with the clientele being mostly Latin gay guys. If you’re into Latin men, then this is the spot for you.
If you find the right bar, there is a special one with gay men giving entertainment shows and, sometimes, a little extra service, if you know what I mean. For those who want it, keep in mind that with extra service comes an extra cost.
A lovely gay bar that you can find on the ground floor of the gay-only hotel, Hôtel Gaythering. The staff are, absolutely, wonderful. Their kindness and loving energy made me feel so warm and welcomed. For those karaoke fans out there, this is the bar for you. Its chill environment makes it perfect for entertainment and small chitchats over drinks.
3. Palace
5. Nathan's Bar
The sauna is located in the basement of Hôtel Gaythering and is, as far as I know, free for all hotel guests.
Miami is an incredible place to visit on your gay holiday, but it might get a little too repetitive if you are staying there for a long time. I would recommend making it a stop out of a larger gay trip. That way you can experience the gay life in Miami while also visiting many other places.
I hope you have a lot of fun there!
Trasporto
Since Miami’s fame put it on the map as the “must-visit” place, it is very well-connected with the entire world through the Miami International Airport.
The airport is in close proximity to Miami Beach, around 20km, and it will take you, at least, an hour depending on the traffic. Oh, be prepared for the traffic in this city because, at times, it can get intense.
From Miami Airport to Miami Beach
As far as I know, you need cash to pay for the bus. It's around $2 for a one-way ticket.
- a taxi or uber can charge you around $25-35 for a one-way trip.
