Nizza - La migliore città gay della Costa Azzurra

France

Nice is incredibly famous which makes it a very well-connected area with tons of international cities. It is a large shopping hub with access to several luxury brands. Of course, we are talking about France here. So, of course, there are luxury brands everywhere. If you love walking through the city to shop, you need to check out “Avenue Jean Medecin.” It’s a famous street that is in the center of the hustle and bustle of Nice’s city. A tram line cuts through the street while you can enter shops on either side.

For all the gay travellers out there, Nice is a city that is always on the top of the list. This wonderful gay city gives you the opportunity to be yourself while exploring its sites on foot. It’s not a big metropolis such as New York, which means its cosiness will keep you comfortable and relaxed. One of the sites I would recommend visiting is the Castle of Nice. It is the highest point in the city where you can have gorgeous, panoramic views of the beaches and the city. You can even walk to the unique, eco-garden “Jardin Albert 1” in the central area of Nice.

The evenings are great times to walk around. The fabulous setting with the street lamps and gorgeous, European architecture creates a dream-like gay holiday. Check out the “Promenade des Angles” which is a street with some of the most luxurious hotels in the world. From this street, you can see the Mediterranean Sea on the other side. Its majestic blues and glistening waves will keep you in awe. The area is filled with bars, terraces, and restaurants that add a unique atmosphere of the French Riviera to your outings.

Nice is famous for its gay life. This wonderful gay city has a vibrant nightlife with tons of gay bars, gay clubs, and saunas that are open until late at night or, even, early in the morning. There is a specific gay area that you would be comfortable in called “Quartier du Port.” This is the place where you can bar-hop from one gay bar to another. The prices of these places or comparable to London or Paris.

If there is one thing I loved about my experience in Nice is that you can have the best of both worlds. You can enjoy the gorgeous city while still being in close proximity to the beaches. In Nice, the most popular beach choices for gay guys are either “Coco Beach” or “Hi Beach.” Personally, I loved the wonderful gay beach called “St Laurent Eze.”

St Laurent Eze is a nude beach where gay men of all ages and identities can enjoy the sun and freedom together. Don’t worry, this beach is clothing optional so you can wear your shorts if you aren’t comfortable swimming in the nude. You can find more about St Laurent Eze in the Sunny Places section of this blog.

As a gay city, Nice has everything a gay man would need. It has shopping, a vibrant city, bustling nightlife, and glorious gay beaches. Keep in mind that the beaches in Nice are not sandy. They are rocky or stony beaches. So, I would recommend you bring some shoes or even an inflatable mattress to lie on.

I hope you have a wonderful gay time!

Alberghi

If there is one thing that Nice has a huge abundance of, that is accommodations. It doesn’t matter what kind of budget you’re on, Nice is accepting of all kinds of gay trips. If you’re trying to be kind to your wallet, there are tons of hostels or cheaper hotels. If you want to pamper yourself during your gay holidays, then you’re in luck because Nice has the most luxurious hotels in the entire world.

As far as I know, Nice doesn’t have a gay hotel that caters only to men. Though, this shouldn’t discourage you because most of Nice’s hotels are gay-friendly. You will be comfortable no matter where you go. Below, I will list some websites that you might find helpful. They will guide you through the options for accommodations, together with the gayest accommodation platform:

Bar/Club/Saune

The nightlife in Nice is on a different level. It’s roaring with rainbow colours that is surprising for a small city. It has numerous options for gay bars, cruising bars, and saunas. You would find most of them in the “Quartier du Port.”

Below are some of my favourite gay bars, clubs, and saunas that you can find in Nice.

1. Malabar Station Nice

This bar has a gorgeous terrace that looks out on the promenade. It’s a popular cruising bar with lovely staff who treated me with the utmost of care. Its prices are acceptable and it’s worth a visit!

2. Eagle Bar

This cruising bar has a unique vibe to it. It can get quite busy and crowded, but if that’s what you like then you’re in luck! This bar is perfect for smokers because they allow you to smoke inside.

Trasporto

Nice Côte d'Azur Airport is the only main airport in Nice. Since this destination is well-visited and very popular, it is connected with many domestic and international flights.

The airport is very close to the center of the city, around 8km. It will take you about 35 minutes if you get on the Number 2 Tram

You can easily grab a ticket at the station. There is the option of taking a taxi from the airport but you will be paying much higher.
